THE SECRET GARDEN
VICTORIAN GARDEN
DAYLILY GARDEN
LOVED THE GLASS SCULPTURES IN THE FOUNTAIN!
GLEN IS COOLING OFF IN THE MISTERS...
I took many individual flower pics for my own reference. Here are a few I thought were neat-o.
FIRECRACKER FLOWER "ORANGE MARMALADE"
DAYLILY "PARDON ME"...LOOK HOW SMALL!
ROSE "STRIKE IT RICH"
We visited the famous St. Louis Arch and Anheuser Busch factory, ate tons of food (Lamberts--yum) and did some shopping. Glen is such a sweetie...he took me to the Lowe's near our hotel and I hit a honey-hole of plants! I got several clearance plants...variegated yucca (3.62), 3 evergreens (1.00 each) and a pygmy red barberry to replace the one Glen mowed down this spring (4.25)! We took the scenic route home (off the interstate) and I got to hit an antique mall. Can life get any better??
I've always wanted to go to the St. Louis Botanical Garden. It looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThis is a place on my list to visit. Sigh, one of these days. It is beautiful and I'd be hard pressed to choose a favorite spot in it-though cool would be smart in the summer:)
ReplyDeleteThey also had a woodland garden (lots of green so I didn't take pics). There were lots of shady areas to rest all throughout the place so even in July it didn't feel miserable.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures!! What a beautiful garden. And you were lucky to go on a overcast day. Easier to explore AND take good pictures, too. I LOVE the grey brick border in the first picture! It looks so neat and tidy. Wish I could have that in my back yard.

The fountain with the glass sculptures is gorgeous. The mosaic plant is something I want to check out further. I luv it.
