Quote

Soft moss a downy pillow makes, and green leaves spread a tent,
Where faerie fold may rest and sleep until their night is spent.
The bluebird sings a lullaby, the firefly gives a light,
The twinkling stars are candles bright, Sleep, Faeries all, Goodnight.

Reflections of Spring

With my job demands I sadly have not had much time for gardening and surely not enough for blogging.  I took a much needed day off to catch up on my personal hobbies and to decompress in general.  I have taken many spring pictures since we have had an early one here in southern middle Tennessee.  Everything has seemed to be so accelerated this year...I want to click pause so I can drink it all in.  Here are a few of my favorite shots.
Spring House--Very Shady Here

Shady side of my shed

Sum and Substance Hosta

Copper orb used to be a plastic Christmas ball!

Shady end of my flowerbed

Reblooming Iris--Unknown name.  This is its first bloom.

Early blooms of a found rose

Gnome in his natural habitat

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I love, LOVE your little spring house!! Our blooms have been quite early as well!! And we've had rain. .making spirits really good!! Thanks for you comment on my post. .our house will be 100 next year. .I keep thinking that I would like to do some then and now photos. .it used to be a 2 story, until a tornado damaged it, and they removed the top story and put the roof back on. There is enough room up there for nice sized bedroom for 2 of the boys. .but I would have SOO loved that second story!! Have a great weekend, and glad you got the chance to unwind.

    1. Phillip, that rose came from St. Florian. Do you go there any?

  4. I have to say I'm a little envious of your early spring. Things are behind here in the Pacific Northwest. Usually by tax day the lilacs are in bloom but they're still in tight bud form. Your 'Sum & Substance' hosta is much farther along than mine. I guess I need to be patient, right? Your photos are lovely and make the waiting easier. I hope you enjoyed your day off. I could use one right about now too.
