Soft moss a downy pillow makes, and green leaves spread a tent,
Where faerie fold may rest and sleep until their night is spent.
The bluebird sings a lullaby, the firefly gives a light,
The twinkling stars are candles bright, Sleep, Faeries all, Goodnight.

"Extra Crispy" is only a good thing at KFC

Well I've been experiencing the September drought as many other bloggers all across the south.  If Mr. Weatherman is not on an acid trip then we shall see much cooler/seasonal temps after today...and RAIN.  I was pleasantly surprised by a few things that have managed to produce a bloom despite the unhospitable conditions.  Let me share with you....

I'm ashamed to do any broad views of the garden so you'll just have to be satisfied with my "spots" of beauty.  I bought some pumpkins today so I can get together something pretty on my porch entry.  Then there's always the mums and pansies....come on FALL!

  2. It's been an awful year for the garden this year and extra crispy is a very apt term. I'm afraid things will carry over to next year but one can always hope right?

  4. Thankfully we got 2" of rain Saturday and things immediately stood upright! Hopefully the fall rainy season is starting. I have seen evidence of new green leaves on things that have been brown so maybe the roots survived and things I feared dead were only dormant.
